Following the success of the [Online Seedstars Summit](https://www.seedstars.com/magazine/online-new-black-running-events-times-coronavirus/) on April 3rd, 2020, we decided to digitally redesign our events worldwide to ensure the safety of our partners and community due to COVID-19 crisis. There will be three stages - local, regional, and global (Online Seedstars Summit), where we’ll discover the name of the best startup from emerging markets who will get USD 500,000 in investment and the title of **the Global Winner 2020/21.** « _As the open call for the Seedstars World Competition has now launched, we could not be prouder to support a community that is eager and capable of taking concrete and constructive steps. By remaining independent while always standing in solidarity, we aim to go beyond physical interactions in order to create an impact on broader society»_ , says Pierre-Alain Masson, Co-Founder of Seedstars. During the 2020/21 edition, we plan to train 1,600 startups through **the Online Seedstars Academy** and select one local startup winner per city to take part in the regional level competition. The startup selected for each region will then compete at the **global Grand Finale** at the **Online Seedstars Summit planned for April 2021**. The Online Seedstars World Competition will be accessible via [**Seedstars Life**](http://seedstarslife.com/?__hstc=242025565.c9a372498fb707241a59bbc2e7a08046.1603964344551.1604163776016.1604310789424.8&__hssc=242025565.4.1604310789424&__hsfp=413475300), a dedicated platform set up to host the regional and global events. This year, the event will have its own theme # _WeareSeedstars_. Seedstars is often defined as an investor, an accelerator, an entrepreneur and a startup competition. But it goes way beyond that. _“We have become a global community with over 150,000 members. It is a community that defines itself by its people and their shared purpose that together we can achieve great things and build a better future”_ , says Alisée de Tonnac, Co-Founder of Seedstars. “ _That’s what we’re conveying through our #WeareSeedstars campaign.
