Oraan is Pakistan’s first women-led, women-first fintech startup digitising hyperlocal financial products to provide credit, insurance and saving services. Oraan’s mission is to make money simple and achievable for everyone, everywhere and recently raised a seed round of USD 3 million - the largest closed by a women-led startup in Pakistan. Founded in 2018, Oraan has since fostered a community of more than 10,000 users across 170+ cities in Pakistan.
Pakistan is home to 5% of the global population of women who are financially excluded. Not considered economically viable, financial products have not been created for women; rather, by men for men and therefore, they overlook the unique manner in which women approach finance and money.
Leveraging human-centric technology and data, we have adopted a hyper-local approach towards creating financial products from a gendered-perspective in order to offer women access to credit, savings and insurance.
