Bringing together and engage local innovators, youths, and MSMEs in Shan State, Myanmar to provide them with opportunities to learn and ideate e-commerce solutions
The Shan State E-Commerce Hackathon is a one-day event in Taunggyi bringing, together and engaging local innovators, young people, and MSMEs to provide them with opportunities to learn about and work on e-commerce solutions.
The rise of digital payment systems, online sales, and collaboration platforms has demonstrated that digital transformation creates opportunities to develop new business models through innovative financing, new ways of reaching consumers, and connecting value chains in Myanmar. The anticipated acceleration of digital transformation in Myanmar will require additional efforts to strengthen digital literacy and infrastructure.
About Shan State E-Commerce Hackathon
To boost Myanmar’s digital development, the Shan State E-Commerce Hackathon offers a unique opportunity for innovators to imagine the future of e-commerce in Shan State, broaden their network, and increase their knowledge of e-commerce. Through a collaboration between UNDP Myanmar and Seedstars, participants will have access to the UNDP MSMEs E-Learning platform, the Seedstars Investment Readiness E-Learning Platform, and the Seedstars Global Mentorship Platform.
Moreover, Seedstars is currently working with UNDP Myanmar in creating a functional e-commerce website and mobile app for Shan State. The platform aims to help digitalize MSMEs in Shan State, providing them with a means to scale and access more users through the platform.
Participants will be put into a group of 4 people with different backgrounds and participate in the Hackathon together.
