Creating technology solutions for enhanced climate action
The UN Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN), which is co-hosted by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), in partnership with SAFEEM and Seedstars is hosting the Climate Innovation Lab in Latin America. This is the third event following two successful lab and academy programs in Africa and Asia-Pacific.

What is the Youth Climate Innovation Labs?
Youth-centered workshops for innovation and the development of climate technology solutions, guided by the present climate technology needs of participants' host countries.
The Youth Climate Innovation Lab is a fast-paced three-day event that will bring together selected youth participants as well as climate technology experts within the selected sectors and technology fields in Latin America to explore innovative design thinking tools, flexing their entrepreneurial muscles, and by the end create business solutions for enhanced climate action.
The Youth Climate Innovation Lab aims to support National Systems of Innovation by bringing youth innovators and climate technology experts together with the private sector to ideate technology solutions for climate mitigation and adaptation solutions.
This programme will encourage thinking about common problems in innovative ways. Supported by private sector experts, entrepreneurs and innovation facilitators, the participants will be challenged to think outside of the box and co-create solutions and business ideas.

Winner Prizes
At the end of the Climate Innovation Lab, the winners from Latin America will be provided follow-on support to implement and scale selected solutions through a 6-8 week Climate Innovation Academy Programme delivered by Seedstars.
Climate Technology Centre and Newtwork (CTCN)
The UN Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) is co-hosted by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and supported by more than 600 network members all over the world. The CTCN promotes the accelerated transfer of environmentally sound technologies for low carbon and climate-resilient development at the request of developing countries. It provides technology solutions, capacity building and advice on policy, legal and regulatory frameworks tailored to the needs of individual countries.
