Step by step, the region is shifting its focus from traditional industries like oil and gas and allocating its resources into digital solutions across various sectors. Governments are promoting entrepreneurship as a top career choice among youth, as its economic impact could be tremendous. Careem, a Middle East unicorn in the transportation industry and our partner at the Seedstars MENA Summit, is proof. In 6 years, the company has expanded to 100 cities in 14 countries and has created hundreds of career opportunities in MENA and South Asia.

More than 28% of the region’s population are tech-savvy millennials who are capable of creating revolutionary products such as Myki (Seedstars alumnus 2014, Lebanon), Mind Rockets (2016, Jordan), and Segmentify (2016, Turkey).

This year, the Seedstars Tour in MENA will finish in Beirut, Lebanon on November 29th with the regional Summit. The event will bring together active investors, top corporates, digital government actors, tech and business media, and of course, ambitious entrepreneurs from the region to share insights, foster collaboration and investment opportunities, and inspire attendees to believe in the potential of innovation in MENA.

We selected twelve startups out of more than 1K tech ideas. The teams will have a unique chance to join the Seedstars community and meet with like-minded peers from all over the world.
