This initiative arises from a partnership between the Government of Mexico City through the Points of Innovation, Freedom, Art, Education and Knowledge (PILARES) and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) Mexico, with the support of Seedstars, the global accelerator and investment fund in emerging markets based in Switzerland, and Platzi, the largest professional education Spanish platform in technology.

The main goal is to reduce the digital barrier through workshops on programming, innovation, entrepreneurship, as well as providing tools to participants to help them enter the technology labor market in Mexico. The program began on January 13 and will train 300 youths from Mexico City which 165 are women or 55% of those accepted.

Diversity enriches group interactions in teaching and learning processes, thanks to the different experiences and visions, so it should be noted that the ages of the people selected range from 18 to 67 years old.

This intensive program will allow participants to learn to program from scratch, develop their own web pages, configure databases and servers, as well as acquire the knowledge to start with the design and development of their business.

This is a 4-month intensive program through Platzi's online platform and workshops offered by Seedstars, as well as for students who wish to learn in person at PILARES' headquarters.

PILARES promotes Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM) skills with girls and women to contribute to their development in scientific and technological areas, through the range of workshops offered, to build a city of rights.

The digital market requires development knowledge in innovative technologies and the implementation of ventures in emerging markets. That is why with this alliance and the selected participants will be able to put into practice the knowledge acquired to carry out their business idea along with the development of the necessary technology.

This is proof of the benefits of international collaborations between government, private companies, accelerators and investment funds to continue closing the technology gap. For more information visit the program's website: https://seedsta.rs/3CzYb31
